Industry Veteran Bronstien Joins AMG

June 11, 2007 -- Ambassadors Marine Group (AMG) company BellPort has hired Jim Bronstien, former president and owner of Rybovich Spencer and recent Chief Executive Officer at Broward Marine, to help develop and direct the company’s plans to expand their east coast service operations.  “Jim’s experience and industry knowledge is a tremendous asset to BellPort in its pursuit of shipyard acquisition and development on the east coast and in the gulf region,” said AMG’s president Everett Babbitt.  “We are both honored and excited to have him on our team. Jim is well regarded in the industry and will be an excellent resource.”

Bronstien’s background in the industry is impressive. For 22 years, he and his family were the sole owners of the famed Rybovich yacht yard and boatbuilding company before selling the company to the Huizenga family in 2004. Jim’s role as President and owner covered all aspects of business ranging from human resources to operations to marketing to customer service to administrative, financial and executive management. Jim then spent one year heading up the operations at Broward Marine assisting the new owner in establishing systems, procedures, policies and organization.

In his involvement with BellPort, Jim will be responsible for leading BellPort’s efforts to expand the company’s shipyard operations from the west coast to the east coast.  “I’m always open to new opportunities and new challenges. Given the extensive background of experience and knowledge that I have developed over the years I feel I can be of great service to Bellport as they look to increase their stake in the service industry,” said Bronstien.

“After speaking with Jim and hearing about the things he’d done at Rybovich it is clear Jim will bring to our east coast operations the same expertise BellPort Newport Harbor Shipyard has provided to the west coast,” said Jesse Salem, VP of Shipyard Operations for AMG.  “Our goals and philosophies are very much aligned.  We’re both interested in the establishment of successful shipyards that operate with extensive customer service, professionalism, and in an environmentally friendly manner while providing modern infrastructure to the bays, harbors, and marinas in which they are located.”

“From an industry as well as an operational standpoint it’s a business philosophy that makes sense,” said Bronstien, who now maintains a consulting business for such ventures.

BellPort partners with local ports, developers, and owners to build world class boating facilities around the world.  The concept behind BellPort’s shipyard management is to develop and operate efficient, quality oriented, customer focused and environmentally compliant yacht repair facilities providing world class services to the maritime community.
