ABBRA details IBEX boatyard tour
Warren, Rhode Island—The American Boat Builders & Repairers Association (ABBRA) has just released an
interactive e-brochure detailing its upcoming Boatyard Tour and Roundtable (previously named the Southeast
Florida Study Tour), scheduled to follow the International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in
Miami, Florida, October 14–16, 2009.
The Boatyard Tour and Roundtable provides attendees with an in-depth look at eight top-notch marine service
and repair facilities surrounding Miami, complete with daily analyses facilitated by Jim Bronstien of Marine
Business Advisors.
At press time, such well-known facilities as Lauderdale Marine Center, Harbour Towne Marine, Roscioli
Yachting Center, Keystone Point Marine, Bill Bird Marina (a Miami Dade facility), Merrill Stevens, Haulover
Marine Center and Point, and Bradford Marine were scheduled to participate in the two-day private tours.
“This conclusive peer analysis will serve as an exceptional learning tool for all participants involved,” says
Doug Domenie, ABBRA’s president. “In today’s economic climate, we hope to provide participants with the
tools necessary to improve their operations in every respect.”
The opening reception for ABBRA’s new major educational and networking event is in Miami on the last day of
IBEX, October 14. Daily roundtable discussions will analyze strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
of each facility on that day’s agenda and participants will view, firsthand, real-world examples of industry best
practices at these renowned and successful Southeast Florida facilities.
